I have a problem with the bolt catch buffer.  I am putting together an ar and have a problem with the bolt catch buffer being too deep in the hole.  It does have spring tension behind it however the tension is not enough to push the bolt catch buffer out far enough for the bolt catch to have sufficient tension.  My problem is I can't get it back out (the bolt catch buffer).  Are there any suggestions?  I have tried shaking it out, tried to get it with a pick, magnet etc.  Don't know what else to try.  Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There is some production debre in the hole that you didn't clean out (milling bur or part of anodizing). When you get the buffer out, chase the channel with a drill bit to clean it up.

As for getting it out, an air compressor with a thin tip blow device should work to get some pressure under the buffer to jar it out.

Put the wrong spring in there by any chance?

Wound up drilling the hole.  It worked.  Bought another spring and buffer, put it together and now I am good to  go.  Thanks to all for the advice!
