Anyone have one?
How is it?

I'm thinking of the 9v for an AR light. I have a G2 on there now and want a step up in brightness but not too expensive.

Don't have one but Natchez has them on special for $99.

I have two 9V ones.

I like them.  The switching is a little different in that it isn't at like a surefire system.  It has click on/off, and light tough for momentary.  The lights themselves are very bright and have good runtime and are solidly built.

I like them much more than my 9V surefire P series lights like the Z3 and 9P I have.  I like them about the same as the Surefire M3 lights.  If they had a turbohead they would be my favorite.

No tape switch yet.  Company says they will be coming in the future, no date released.

Replacement bulbs run around $25 from Blackhawk.

The 9v Falcata is an excellent light and is one of the best throwing non-turbohead incandascents.

Which VLTOR mount is this, the "classic" or the larger one for "Nitrolon-diameter" bodies?

I got burned by botac before but out of curiosity I called to see if was in stock.  No one answered the phone with repeated calls over the course of two days.  I left two messages and no one ever called back.  I hope you get it though.

Sorry it took so long but I was busy playing with the new 6 volt.  I had no problem with botac.  I got it in a few days after I ordered it.  Very durable light.  Its not plastic.  It has a very durable rubber tail cap.  Press slightly for quick light or push all the way to turn on.  It had a belt clip attached by 3 allen screws.  I took it off and put the screws back on.  Nice flat black finish and rock solid housing.  For 39.95 its a steal.  I'm happy with it.

If the idea of using Botach bugs you give Natchez a call.  They were running the 6Vs on sale along with the 9Vs.

$69.99

MSRP is $99 and $139 respectively.  $70 still seems like a good deal to me.  If that's too much, use Botach, I'm just posting what I saw in their flyer and it looked good to me.  I didn't compare from any other sources.  Also, after looking at their link, it looks like they posted the 9V as a 6V model, for $99.  I'm sure the deal I saw was 6V-$69.99; 9V - $99.99.

They're selling Gladius' for $169.  That's a pretty good deal, isn't it?

Jmart,

Thanks for the heads-up on Natchez, ten dollars is well worth it to me to avoid Botach.  I ordered a 6V and a 9V.

Ok, got it!
Also the viking tactics mount and GGG ring mount I ordered.

It is well, BRIGHT! I didn't get to use it much outside yet. It lights up interior rooms significantly more than my G2 does.
I like the pocket clip for bezel down carry. It is a big large for trouser pockets tho, but would carry well in a jacket pocket.
The finish is very good.

I'm using this on a YHM rail mount on my middy. I might add another short rail section and a verticle grip behind the light to get a better grip. But I guess it wouldn't be a KISS carbine anymore. oh well. It might end up on another AR and a G2 may go on the middy.

comparing Falcata, G2 and inova X5

in the GGG ring mount

the viking tactics mount comes with ridiculously long allen wrenches!

on the YHM rail section

front view with the VT mount

Yes, there is gunk between my barrel and flash hider that I didn't notice during my last cleaning

CA2VAyay Thanks for the heads up. As I said before I was very leary of ordering from botach, but everything went smooth. I'll post a little review myself.

Here is a Surefire 6p, Falcata and the Gladious

Of the three, I think the Gladious is the brightest followed by the Falcata. When comparing them inside, the falcata didn't seem that much brighter(95 lumen vs 60) than the 6p. When I went outside is when I noticed the difference. The only thing that the 6p can do over the night ops is use different tail switches. The Falcata is cheaper, brighter, has a longer runtime,  is shock isolated and is water proof. It is definitely the best light I've found for the money. I didn't really care for the pocket clip, only because I had to remove it to use the light with a mount.

CA2VAyay,

How do you like the GGG&G mount?  It looks nice in your pictures, (nice pictures, BTW) so I ordered a couple to try out.

It's solid.
I decided I don't like the light at 6 o'clock tho, so I'm using the VT offset. If I had one of those rail systems at an angle, it would be perfect there.
