Problems or worth it?

would you rather have 1 magazine with 100 rounds that can fail. with 1 you are SOL...

or 6 30 rounds mags that can fail. with 6 you stand a chance of one of them functioning.

Well I heard good and bads too but If any damn reason some ass hat gets a NEW AWB ban I will have my investment all ready. When they make the Ar15 (mm beta in Jan I will get one too. It is like buying 2 pairs of shows to a woman to me. $250 is not that much cash for having fun. U only live once ,and you can not take the money or guns with U so U decide. I am not going to war so it doesnt effect me unless we have a RED DAWN attack . I will be ready

At the "newly found freedom" price of $249, yes, definitely worth it

I just tried mine out the other day. It was a whole differant experance from the 30 rounders. My commando M16 with 30 rounders would run a little over two seconds before empty. Now with the Beta C you get the real feel of a machine gun.
It is put together well and is a solid peace of equipment. I don't think a simple drop would break it but then I don't believe it was designed for extreame abuse. I guess you can break anything if you want to. I don't plan on taking it into battle so that is of little concern to me. It like my machine guns are just fun toys.
What is it worth? I'd say about $75 but if you want one it will cost you $250. I guess the real question is what is it worth to you? Fun is not cheap

My shooting partner and I do 60 rounds in 60 seconds drills with our ARs. Our goal is to have everything inside 4 MOA at 100 yards and we do well very often. I can tell you that my Oly PCR-1 is VERY hot after doing this drill once. I just doubt it's a good idea to blast 100 rounds in a few seconds through an M16 or any light machine gun.

Am I wrong?

Wrong? Not at all. It WILL burn a barrel up if used for extended fire. If you shoot machine guns then you well know barrels and bullets are expendable items. I just goes with the territory. I usually take 4 uppers with me so I can change them out. This allows them to remain cool enough to handle. When we go out we generally fire 1000 to 1300 rounds per hour.

Worth it.

Semi auto = Worth it because who knows how long you will be able to buy one.

Auto = Worth it because a 100rd magazine dump is one thing that makes an M16 fun to own. And who knows how long you will be able to buy one.

It does sound like Kerry would like the Ban reinstated if he is elected doesn't it. Congress is the stumbling block there though. They would have to vote it through before he could sign it. Never can tell.
You might buy a Beta-C ....... Just in case. Your wife will understand.

Check the CA Hometown forum under the "Burro Canyon" Arfcom shoot last weekend. One of the guys bumpfired a whole Beta using SMGlee's LMT MRP. Video should be up by now.

Here's mine (she says "Hi Troy!") :
