I’m a proud new Beta C owner and I have a couple of questions. Has anyone else seen their feed lip get dinged and chewed up while loading with the 10 round loading tool? I’ve checked and double checked to make sure it is properly installed and secure, but every now and then it seems the rounds are getting hung up and chewing up the lip. Will this cause a problem such as a cracked tower down the line? I’m using Q3131A ammo. Also, I noticed that when the magazine is full (100 rounds) I can’t slam it home in the receiver. I have to open the bolt in order for it to seat properly. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance!

What you are seeing is completely normal and usually happens with the first loading. It is cosmetic only and I have never seen the chipping cause a functioning problem.

That being said, a spare tower is always a good thing to have in the parts box "just in case".

I use a LULA to avoid the chipping issue.

Yes, you can't slam home a fully loaded mag with the bolt closed.

I tried the LULA, but the drum was in the way and wouldn't let it secure properly...so I did it by hand. No big deal though because it was a nice sunny day and perfect for loading my Beta C in the peace and quiet!
