Hey guys,

I am stocking up on some hicaps before Illinois decides to ban them altogether.  I would like to eventually get a 9mm upper, so I plan on getting a half dozen uzi mags.  Could anyone clue me in on the best prices they have found on the web?  I have found IDF issue israeli produced ones at www.coledistributing.com for $15 each, which seemed pretty good.

Thanks in advance!

FYI to anyone looking for cheap uzi mags, I called Cole distributing and they are now $99.99 for 10 uzi mags, $1 each for handpick (to get IMI "star" mags).  Sem to be very friendly and knowledgeable folks too.

Here I go, buying mags for an upper I don't even own yet...ah, the EBR sickness is worsening!

"Neanderthal" had 10 of the Cole's mags drop shipped to me to convert.  They are nice IMI mags.

I bought 20 of the "Star Mags" and they really are great!  Two thumbs up here!

Are the mags 20 or 32 rounders?

TIA,

Booker

what is the cost to convert them?  I'm thinking of a 9mm project down the road and trying to decide whether to go with a block that takes sten or uzi mags, colts are just too freakin expensive.

Just got the mags today, each one ws wrapped in newsprint so it wouldn't rub against the one next to it.  These were the handpicked IMI "star" mags.  Besides needing some cleaning out of gunpowder residue and the expected finish wear they may as well be brand new.  DEFINITELY worth the price of 10.99 including the handpicking!

Well I just purchased a RRA 9mm setup from the EE... comes with four modified uzi mags, gonna need some more.  Anybody have a web addy for Cole's.  The guy who does the mods also imed me about his service, I accidently deleted it, could you IM me again with the details.

Oh, so YOU are the one to blame for stealing that upper from me! [;)].

 www.coledistributing.com

I recommend getting the "good" condition uzi mags, 10 for $99.99, and get the handpick for a $1 extra, I got all IMI star mags that way.  I cleaned and inspected all of the mags, and out of the 10 only one had a little bit of rust on it (not visible to the eye, only noticeable on the rag I used to clean the mag with when wiped down with CLP).

BTW, the good condition uzi mags are not on their website, you will have to call them.

Joeblack will notch the mags for you...

Hmmm... don't know if I need another 10 mags... then again I suppose I could have them modified and sell a few.

Thanks for the info, and sorry you lost out... [;)]  Conley had a decent rig for a very good price over there as I recall.

FYI, just checked Cole's website, 10 packs are up to $145...  emailed asking them what the deal was, but they close at noon today for the holidays.  Oh well, day late and a dollar short I guess...

The $145/10 pack on their site are for "excellent like new condition" mags, not the "good" conidition mags.  I would imagine the excellent condition would have all the finish.  I believe the good condition mags can be bought at $10.99 each, I just decided to get 10 to get the price break of $99.99/10.

Have fun with the 9mm!

Just got an email from Cole, the 10/$99.99 is still available, but they are closed until 1/5/04... will call them then.

What kind of condition are we talking about here?

Well, most other places would probably list them as very good or excellent condition.  Really the only obvious signs of use are the finish wear and power residue in the top of the mag.  Finish wear consists of your usual lack of finish around the edge of the baseplate and maybe a rub mark or two on the sides from insertion, plus a little wear on the finish around the feed lips on a few mags.  They are a medium to panzer grey parkerized finish, no dents on mag body or dmage to feed lips.  I don't have a weapon to test them in yet, but they are *solid* steel construction and I would risk a guess that they will all work 100%.

I felt like they were a steal for what I paid ($9.99 for ANY highcap is an awesome price!)

If you want I can send you a pic, just shoot me an email.

OK guys, here is a better deal... order 5 or more from this guy and shipping is included!  No need to buy 10!  He has a pic of some on the listing and they look great.  Doesn't charge a paypal fee.  Five for $50 delivered...  I didn't really want to buy ten so this works better for me, maybe it will for you too.

FYI, the mag on the far left in the pic on the FALFiles link is what the Cole Distributing "good" condition mags look like.  Hiram, I am assuming that you no longer need the pic of the Cole mags.

Dawg, I don't need it, thank you.  Maybe some of our brothers here would like to see them though.
