I've decided to get a dedicated .22 upper.  I will be using a lower with a Geiselle SSA-E trigger.  I have BDM mags already.  I have a TAC-65 .22LR suppressor.  I would like an upper that is accurate, reliable, and able to be used with subsonic ammo and my suppressor.

Does such a beast exist?  Also will it be able to shoot the 60 grn SSS ammo?

Thank you for the help!

PS - also want to be able to put a YHM Diamond FF handguard on this, so I just want to make sure that these are pretty much compatible with being able to do that - i.e. are these uppers pretty much just like any other AR upper with regards to being able to put any handguards on to them?

Get a 5.5 inch barrel from spikes or go with a pistol upper from CMMG. Obviously, you will have to SBR your lower. Having a short barrel will allow you to shoot subsonic no matter what round you are shooting. The barrels are generally 1/12 so a 60 grain bullet will not be very stable in it. If you are not willing to go the SBR route, I would go with a 16in CMMG or Spikes upper. Both are very nice. Here is me suppressed SBR upper.

I use a TAC 65 with my CMMG M4 LE .22
With Eley I shoot .807 at 50 yards.
For subs, I use CCI. Accurate and cycles great.
Mine will cycle Remington Subs but gets gummed up after about a mag.

I don't know about the Geissel trigger. Mine will run with a rounded or notched G.I. You never know until you try it.
I have 10K through it with 3 fte's I know that's hard to beleive, but others have posted the same results.
I always recommend the stainless up grade.

I wish I knew how you guys are pulling that off. My CMMG 5.5" runs like a top, but it does not keep High Velocity ammo sub sonic.

SO I assume your upper is a 16" barrel, 1:16 twist?  And the subs cycle fine with this setup and the suppressor?  Sounds very accurate, too!

And get the stainless upgrade, roger.

So, will I be able to put different handguards on there with no issues?

Mine is a 1/16 twist. All the .22 barrels from CMMG are.
The barrel mounts just like a standard AR barrel. Only difference is the .22 barrel sits farther into the receiver. It gives a 16" barrelled upper the look of a 14.5"
Subs cycle fine without any changes to the kit. No tuning at all.
