I am looking to build an A4/DMR type AR. I have pretty much everything chosen except for the barrel. My accuracy goals are 1MOA or less with Match ammo (chambered in 5.56). I favor long-term durability over accuracy. What would be best? Stainless? Chrome moly?

Well no top expert on barrels but have read that of course a chrome lined is probably as durable as they come but people say accuracy will suffer a little with the chrome lined barrels..

There's plenty of chrome lined barrels that will achieve 1 MOA with a tailored handload. A HBAR will do the job if you don't mind the weight. Molon got some pretty good groups with a Colt HBAR. Maybe someone can provide a link to his threads?

Noveske makes a dead-accurate chrome lined barrel. Unfortunately they don't sell them individually and their chrome lined uppers only go up to 16".

ETA: It also depends on what your definition of 1 MOA is.

If you want accuracy go with a stainless HBAR with a wylde chamber. Choose a twist best for the type of ammo you will be shooting to get the best groups. White Oak Armory.......

Depending on the manufacturerm, chomoly will be slightly more accurate than chrome lined. Chrome lined will last much longer, but may not be needed if you aren't spitting out thousands of rounds.

For the best combination of the two I would suggest chrome moly / chrome moly vanadium steel, and QPQ nitrided.

For better accuracy for the type of rifle you seem to be describing, a chamber other than a 5.56 NATO type chamber would give you better accuracy (as long as you're not doing chrome lined). A modified 5.56 chamber like the AMU, Noveske match or something similar would probably be best.

Depends on the application I guess but what ever the TDP says for a combat grade chromelined barrel same specs as what BCM and a couple others use.Stainless for match barrels...what are you looking to get out of it?and whats the thprimary use?

You're naming some chambers I've never heard of before. Could you explain further or link me to where you learned about them? Very intrigued... Thanks!
