Which magazine has the most info on AR's?
(is there one)
Some mags may have an AR artical, then the rest of the mag is about someone's revolver from the 1970's and the best 45-70 round???

you will learn more about ARs around here than from any gun rag.

SAR or SWAT, but even they are not solidly AR only.

Why would you want AR info from a gun rag anyway? They have advertizers to keep in mind.

Buy a copy of "The Black Rifle" and "The M16 Rifle and its Cartridge".

Well, you're both right. I have learned more
here in 8 weeks than any book could have taught me.  I like books showing up on a regular basis.
Both books you have mentioned will get read.
Thanks

BTW my wife gets pissed when I drag the computer in the bathroom when I expect an extended sitdown.

The only issue of Special Weapons for Law Enforcement I've ever picked up was trashing AR-15 and the "weak .223 cartridge" left and right.
I didn't pick up any other since then, not because of that, but because I don't like to blow money on magazines. But lately they've had some nice AR's on the cover, so it might be worth check out.

If I may, I would also recommend THE GREAT RIFLE CONTROVERSY  by the late, great, Ed Ezell.

The book "The Complete AR-15/M16 Sourcebook 2nd Edition" by Duncan Long is a good read also I think I paid $30 for it.

It's not a book, but the video "The M-16 Machine Gun Video" by Alabama Arms / Gary Reisenweitz is very informative.

Maintinence, mechanical operation, rate reducers, timing and headspace and drop in autosears are included in the vid.

You can get it through: Alabama Arms / P.O.B. 55177 / Birmingham, AL  35255 for about $20

If you insist on reading, then pick up a copy of the U.S. Marine Corps Technical Manual (TM 05538C-23&P2 / Dated October 1983)  You will learn a lot from it.  You can get that through Bushmaster.

Gabe writes a good book but if I had to choose between "TR" and Jim Crews' manuals for training Jim would win every time.

CDs from Jim Crews

I really like Suarez's "Tactical Adavantage" tho.

I have Kuleck's "Owner's Guide" here and have read the other one previously. "Owner's Guide" has some errors in it but it's not nearly as bad as Poyer's POS.

For nuts and bolts AR info you can get a copy of "The Complete Guide to AR-15 Accuracy" by Martin & Tillman.

To learn the history you have to go back in time tho.

The Armalite AR-10. Pikula
The M16 Contoversies McNaugher
US Rifle M14, from John Garand to the M21 Ezell & Stevens
SPIW, the Deadliest Weapon that Never Was. Ezelll & Stevens

And, of coure, there is "Black Magic" and "The Competitive AR15" for the accuracy minded.
