I went to the Bass pro shops to shoot today, I knew that the range was only 25 yards but I was told by the guy in guns that it was. I get upstairs and the guy tells me that I can't shoot FMJ ammo and then tells me that I can shoot anything but. So I ask what do they have in the store that I can shoot there and they tell me the only thing is with lead tips. The lead tipped ones (the only ones they had that I could use) were $12 for 20. What bullshit, what a scam. Lookout anyone that goes to shoot there.

Recently there has been an uproar over BPS's shooting policies. They would not allow someone to shoot their AR-15 at all.

After word got around, someone from BPS responded via email and the letter is at AK.net right now. It says the store was wrong, and you can shoot any rifle as long as it is not FA.

It went on to say the only rounds not allowed are hand-loads and projectiles capable of +3600pfs. It sounds to me like you need to email this person and inform them of yet another incorrect assesment of their rules being made at another BPS location.

My range here in Omaha has the same rule but they accept HP rounds also.  I don't waste my money on the $12 soft points they sell though.  Got myself some Silver Bear 62 grain SP for under $3 a box and shot it up.  I don't waste my time there any longer though as shooting at 25 yards at paper is boring as sh|t.
