Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barreling an Upper

If I buy a barrel with barrel extension and matching bolt, Is it pretty much drop in the upper from there?  Meaning do I have to do any headspacing or anything critical like that?

That is all there is to it.  Pretty simple really.

If its a new barrel and bolt it should be ok.  Than its just a matter of putting them together with the upper.  I have a set of headspace guages so I checked mine when I put it together.  As expected , it was ok.  If they were used than I would check the headspace or have it checked.
