Could someone please tell me: what is the diameter of the barrel just behind the front site, of a post-ban new RRA M4 Entry Tactical? The chrome-moly barrel, not the chrome-lined new ones. Thanks.

I am assuming the Knights RAS will not fit this barrel correct? Only the RIS and the RAS2 right?

The RRA M4 Entry Tactical uses an M4 type barrel like the 2001 LEPG, which is similar to the Bushy/colt/etc.  The RAS should fit fine.

As I recall, the 2001 LEGP Rock River M4 barrels were not machined to the same diameter as regular M4 barrels. Unless mistaken, they were a little thicker. I have been asking around to see if this is still the case, but with no luck. Can anyone here with a Rock River M4 barrel and some gauges read us the specs?

I just measured my RRA Post Ban M-4 with fake FS and the thickest area just behind the front sight was .850.  That handguard removal tool was the best 18 bucks I ever spent.

k9dpd, thanks for the tip.  I'll have to look for one when I get some feeling back in my fingers.

I believe this was the guy who had the tool, but his site isn't listing it right now.  He had a few demo pics on his site.  Don't know what the problem with his site is.  www.dcfonline.com
