I'm workin' on a build and want an 18" bull barrel. The goal here is utmost accuracy, and before you ask yes i know the bull barrel wont really help with that directly but it wont hurt either and weight really isn't a concern on this one.  
Current specs are:
Spikes enhanced LPK
Spikes st-15 lower
Vltor modstock ( may change to an a2 not sure yet gonna see how it balances)

Parts Planned:
Spikes m4 upper
Thunder Bolt
Troy Doa rear and hk front folding sights (Tritium?)
Primary arms 4-16 in a LT-104 till i can get better glass

The handguard is up in the air right now. Leanin' towards an MI SS 15" since I don't really need a Quad rail.
The Barrels I'm lookin' at are a WOA 18" Varminter or a Douglass air-gauged stainless from CLE But other Options will be considered, thats just what I've found. Cheers!  

Cle is the way to go man, Douglas is good but take a look at krieger. I talked with cle when I ordered mine and I got one of each from them so I am not biased in either way between Douglas or krieger. The way it was explained to me was that krieger and Douglas will shoot the same as far as accuracy, however the krieger will have around 50 percent longer barrel life. So for the few extra dollars you get a lot more life out of the krieger. This was also what I was told by denny of denny's guns about the differances between the two makers.

How bout Barrel specs and average groups?
Or even better pics of rifle and targets?
An I may see if i can squeeze out the extra cash for the Krieger.
I'll probably order the barrel last though so I've got a little time.

I would love to help you out with some photos and group size info honestly, but i am currently waiting for the barrels to get back from being coated so i can finish the builds they go on. I can say without a doubt i am sure both will shoot lights out.

I do have a 10.5 inch barrel from denny's guns that is a cle turned douglas blank i belive, it shoots well under 1 MOA, and i belive the best i have shot it is .75 or so. I normally dont shoot it for groups obviously so I dont have any targets to post up.

The cost differance for me between the douglas and krieger blank barrels was around 75 dollars acording to my records here, so its like 23 percent more cost, but lasts 50 percent longer. . .seems to be a good idea to me if its going to be a rifle you shoot alot.

Krieger barrels are very highly regarded in bolt guns and comp shooting, so i know they are quality. If you want to see some groups and get more info on both brands i would just google them, i know i did that when i was making my choices and got alot of info that way.

Great point about the trigger, I ment to post that with my first post but I guess I forgot. You will need a better trigger if your looking for tight groups for sure.

Good advice here.

Bottom line is call Compass Lake and get a Krieger 1:7.7 with a Wylde chamber and a headspaced bolt, buy a Geissele Hi-speed, and put on that A2 stock.

The Douglas will do fine also but for the barely $100 difference I'd just do a Krieger.

About the trigger current plan is to finish the rifle and upgrade the trigger soon thereafter. But this will also be a huntin' rifle so trigger pull cant be too light. Suggestions?

For triggers there is Geissele and then everything else basically. Now its actually not that simple, Geissele makes the best two stage triggers, which are great in my opinion, however some dont like 2 stage pulls, and want a one stage. For that i would recomend the following, Mail your current trigger group to Bill Springfield and have him work it over. He charges anywhere from 30-50 bux i belive depending on what weight you want him to set it at. You can get 4lbs, 3lbs, and 2.5 i belive, but its all up on his website to look at. I have heard nothing but great stuff from his work and have sent off 3 of my own trigger groups to have done. Some like the single stage, others dont, so you have to pick what you want.

As far as Geissele goes you can either go all out with the Geissele Hi-speed which is thier adjustable target trigger and costs around 280, or you can go for the ssa-e which is a non adjustable two stage that is light weight for tactical precision for 200, or get a ssa-a i belive and it is a non adjustable two stage that is slighlty heavier than the ssa-e for basic work, i think its 170. All are great, i have the Geissele Hi-speed and ssa-e.

well then you still want to skip the spikes "enhanced" LPK

the Geissele will replace your entire FCG and it makes no sense to waste extra money that could go towards the SSA-E or DMR for parts you're just going to pull anyway. you can get a WOA LPK (less FCG) for around $40, save $110 and only need $90 for the SSA-E

Get a ssa-e trigger group from palamentto state armory. 230 for the ssa-e, magpul now grip, and lpk. Saves you a ton.
