What are some good barrels and handguards to look into? I have looked at the Daniel defense 16inch light weight mid length and a 14 inch fortis REV handguard.

I like a 12" risII and a 14.5" carbine barrel.

But I don't do any of that keymod middy faggotry.

Used a 16" Daniel Defense Mid-length Lightweight w/FSB on my build with a Midwest Industries Free Float quad rail (T series gen 2, 9" I think it is).

I think you just offended yourself and you don't even know it!

I like the Daniel defense barrels but mine won't be a fixed front site when I finally get to the point of buying the barrel

I've built 2 rifles with AR Performance 16" SOCOM barrels, both shoot sub MOA 5 shot groups with 75 grain Hornady match bullet reloads.
They get new inventory about once a week, and are currently out of SOCOM barrels but have LW barrels in stock.
5R rifling, 1:8 twist, Melonited barrels for a little over $200 shipped.
AR Performance Barrels

I built one upper with a Parallax Tactical FF HG, it's fairly light, very sturdy, and easy on the hands
PXT HG
Of course I only paid $125 for it from a member here apparently in need of cash at the time.

I just bult another upper with a Head Down Provectus FF HG (on sale for $109 at the time)
HG at PA
The mounting system is the best I've seen so far, very sturdy.
Keymod and flush cups, full length top rail, I like it.

One I've been considering is a UTG FF HG w/ full length top rail.
Before you dismiss a UTG product, think about this; made in USA and from the reviews light and well finished, inexpensive, too.
UTG FF HG
Definitely a contender if you have smaller hands (like me).

I have used MI, DD, and Troy FF HGs and honestly the ones I wrote about here seem every bit as good.
Who am I to judge, though, I only spent 20 years in the machine shop and design studio.

Lots of good suggestions, I completely forgot about socom barrels, but I'm probably gonna stick with the fortis rev handguard  cause it's made in my home state

Any good carbine 16" barrel with a low pro gas block, with the Daniel Defense Modular Float Rail (MFR) 12.0 over it.  This is the modular rail that comes standard on the DDM4V7 rifle.  I chose a CMMG nitride barrel.  MOA accuracy, highly versatile and solid mounting.  And great look whether scoped or running a microdot.

I'm partial to my 16" mid-length Rainier Arms Mountain Series barrel (CHF M249 blank, double chrome lined) and my 14" Wilson Combat TRIM rail. :D

I have a 14.5 with a pinned AAC51T. It's legal in my part of Washington.

Noveske barrel and a rail to your liking there are so many great choices these days. I'm looking at the Gieslee  Rails myself.

I recently purchased a Colt AR-15 model LE6920HAWK-FDE. The barrel is marked C 5.56 1/7 MP. I know the 5.56 and 1/7, I figure the MP means multipurpose barrel, but does the C stand for Colt or Chromed barrel? I've been told both. By the way, it is a fun weapon to shoot. I may try it out on deer this fall, then see if I can call in a coyote or two. It is terribly accurate using the iron sights, now I need to zero my Nikon P-223 scope.
