Just put a Simmons 8-32x44 scope on my AR, mainly just to see what it can do.  The scope is ment for the Varmit rifle I am putting togeather.  But right now it is spicing up my A2.

No pic, but at one time I had a Mk34 Mod 0 Starlight Scope (AN/PVS-2) mounted on a XM177E2.

If I'm not mistaken, the AMU uses the Nightforce 8.5-32x56mm on their custom .300 Win Mag rifles ( 600/100 yard guns )

My scope is only a Leupold 3-9x40 so I hope it's modest size doesn't aggravate anyone [:)]

JERV, OR ANYONE THAT RECOGNIZES JERV'S SCOPE AND SET-UP POSTED EARLIER IN THIS THREAD.  WHAT SCOPE, SHADE, CAPS, RINGS AND MOUNT IS THAT ON JERV'S AR.  VERY INTERESTING....

@danhits: The scope is an "el cheapo" Tasco Target 6-24x44mm, with standard Butler Creek flip up's and the longest sun shade I could find.
The mounts are Leupold steel extra high rings, and I used four of them for extra strength.

Such a nice rifle and such a CHEAP scope. Does that NC Star hold zero??? I loved my Savage 10FLP in .308. Perfect shooter with Sharpshooter adjustable trigger. Had Leupold 6x42 scope on it.

Question for DaPhotoGuy:
Your rig looks cool, is that a 20 inch bull barrel on a mid-length FIRSH?

I WISH!  [:(]  The picture is deceiving.  It's actually a carbine length FIRSH on a 16" barrel.  I really WANT a 20" barrel but I'm so broke from buying my current guns.  Someday. . .

Thanks, DaPhotoGuy.

I was thinking of a similar set-up as yours but using a Model 1 20" bull barrel fluted and lathed from the gas block 1" towards .750 at the crown end to receive a Miculek Comp. The mid-length FIRSH is what I had in mind so as to position the bipod closer to the CG. I'll send you a pic once its done.

Wow, sounds like we are of the same mind here.  That sounds exactly like what I would like to have.  Besides the 20" barrel (or 24") I've been looking a lot at fluting my barrel (the entire length except at gas block) and turning it down at the end to accept a comp.  Still too much money for me to swing right now.  Can't wait to see pictures of yours.

Where did you get the adjustable but plate for the A2 stock?
I got to have one.

Lot's of barrel with a little bit of HG?  I went the opposite route:

that one's just a 10x40, but here's a 4-16x50 on the same rifle:
