 Our good friend Paul at Bravo Company Manufacturing has gone to the trouble to make up this extractor up grade kit so we can all easily upgrade our existing systems inexpensively and in a few minutes. The BCM Extractor Spring is a heavy 5 coil design made for the increased extractor tension required on many AR15, M4, M16 short barreled rifles. This product also inproves the reliability on a standard 16" and 14.5" carbines. As with all BCM branded products, the highest quality is the primary focus. Our BCM Extractor Spring is manufactured by a 9001:2000 facility employing the latest precision equipment. BCM starts with only the highest quality chrome silicon material, heat treats to stress relieve the product and shot peens to add increased strength. This kit also includes the new black extractor insert, standard on all M4, M4A1, Mk18 carbines and the recent new standard on M16A4 rifles. The BCM Extractor Spring is so strong the Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring will probably not be needed, but it is included. Each kit contains the following: - BCM Extractor Spring (chrome silicon, heat treated & stress relieved, shot peened) - Crane Ind O-Ring (Mil-Spec) - Black Extractor Insert  In addition there is also a 3 pack available to save you some $$$ and upgrade a few rifles or keep some spares on hand for future use. That should make for some happy people. Nicely done, and well worth it for people who are starting to see extraction issues, or who just want to stay ahead of the curve.

it's good to see a few of the site sponsors carrying these small parts, i have a few CMT bolts with the blue inserts, but i don't buy enough at places like brownells to make the shipping worth it to get the proper black inserts/springs.
yesterday i just threw a three pack on an existing order and paid no shipping. |

Download this. Pages 51-54 will tell you how to take apart your existing bolt, and pages 75-78 will show you how to put it back together (you'd substitute these new parts on page 75, of course). |

Good price.
The copper colored Colt extractor spring with black insert is about $5.00 from Brownells. so this is certainly competatively priced and includes the O-ring. |

I have upgraded my POF extractor with this kit, springs are good, if you use the spring AND oring it's a bear to get the extractor back in the bolt, alas, just push hard and that pin WILL go in... works well good cheap upgrade

I purchase a three-pack and installed on my two RRA rifles. Good parts, good price. The extractor tension is a LOT more than the stock springs. A lot. Is there such thing as TOO much tension on the extractor? :)

Yeah I picked one up too. I also noticed the greater tension. Haven't had a chance to get to the range with this setup, but don't anticipate any probs. Very quick shipping too! Denny already has another order from me!

I bought three packs of these, gave two away to friends and installed one on mine.
While installing the new spring snapped in half But using the black insert and the o ring cured my extraction issues with Wolf!!!

Yes, the basic upgrade kit will work fine. The more complete kit with the extractor will not due to the size difference of the .308 extractor. |
