Do the BCGs from BCM have the black orings already inserted on the bolts?

None of the ones I have came with the o-ring installed, it was included separately.

This..

I bought a BCM BCG and it came completely assembled in a bag and at the end of the bag had a separate compartment with the Black O-Ring

I disassembled the bolt and it did NOT have an o-ring installed on the extractor spring

I wonder if BCM wants you to use it as it comes and only install the o-ring if you begin to have extraction issues...?

It comes separate with the BCM bolt.

It's included in case you want to run it. Paul has said that the spring in the extractor is strong enough that it doesn't need the o-ring but the o-ring may come in handy if you have a worn spring.

I install it just because I like to have the piece of mind but it really isn't needed with BCM bolts.

I trusted Paul and didn't install any of mine.  You can tell that the spring has enough tension when you try to reinsert the extractor pin, it is damn stiff.  I just label the package and throw it in with my extra AR parts or stuff in in my pistol grip just incase I need it down the road.

Same with Daniel Defense BCGs, the O-ring came separately in a plastic bag. My old ArmaLite BCG did have the O-ring installed but I removed it. My ARs are midlength and I don't see much need for the extra tension on the extractor.

Mine came in a little baggy that I put up and saved for that just in case moment when I need it.

The black extractor insert is installed. The o-ring is always seperate. Don't run it unless you need it. In most cases you wont. I always keep it just in case.

I just got my BCM bolt and was going to post this exact question.  Mine came with the o ring separate and if you look under the BCM Extractor Spring Upgrade Kit on their site it says The BCM Extractor Spring is so strong the Mil-Spec Crane O-Ring will probably not be needed, but it is included. I just installed mine and I needed needle nose pliers to compress it enough to put the pin back in.

Im just puting some fresh slip2000 on it and it is going in a S&W M&P15 MOE which is now running a Spikes buffer and the BCM BCG. Gonna hang on to the S&W one for spare parts

They come separate because BCM knows they don't belong in there, but the customers demand them.

(Paul has posted this in more diplomatic terms)

The right insert and spring should make the AR function.... if not, find a new AR.

same here, you shouldn't need the o-rings anyway.

Im going to the range tomorrow to test it out with the Oring in it. Im curious to see how my AR performs now with a Spikes ST-T2 and a BCM FA BCG. I think the next step is a Battlecomp 1.0
