Does the BATF consider silver solder by it self to be a permanent method of attaching a muzzle device to bring a barrel up to legal length. How much will the heat effect the finish on a Bushmaster
barrel and is a peel washer or crush washer the way to go,(heat handling) or is there no diference.

The melting point must be above 1100F. There is silver solder that melts at temps lower than that. How they would go about proving this, I don't know, but I'm allergic to prison, so I don't take any chances.

Just bust out the welder!

Solder will work, but I just don't trust it as much if a pro didn't do it...
