Are there place that sell just the 6.8 specific parts for someone who wants to build a rifle on a budget?  I have seen barrels available from Model 1 and magazines from PRI, but have not yet found a place where you can get a bolt.

Also, if anyone is interested, there is now a 6.8 Rem SPC Yahoo group on the net.  Everyone is welcome!

Thanks for the info.  I imagine once the 6.8 gains more popularity, there will be more choices, (Bushmaster, DPMS, RRA, Olympia, etc.)

I emailed Bushmasters tech dept and they told me there was no plans to market a 6.8 rifle or upper until a commercially available round is available.

We need a good middle of the road upper the likes BM or RRA could provide.....

Model 1 should have bolts since they make complete 6.8 kits.

I have a question as to the parent case of the 6.8????
Rin diameter?
Length?
Primer size?

The 6.8 started out as a .30 Remington case necked down to .270 and shortened to 43mm (compared to 45mm for a .223).  I believe it uses a large primer.  I have looked at the 6.8 FAQ, and it is a good place to start.   Hopefully, load books will start carrying the info once it becomes more popular.  In addition, I formed a 6.8 Yahoo group where you can get info.
