Is there any step by step instructions for assembling a bare upper? I found the pages with the parts list but I am looking more for a “how to”.

TIA

Look at this link at the top of the DIY AR forum

Already did but thanks. I need a step by step like the great one they did for the lower.

No one has assembled their own upper?

An A2 rear sight assembly can be a little tricky, but no more than assembling a lower. I have had several requests to post this how-to.... but to be honest, I always buy my upper receivers complete

I guess I am SOL hua?

Check out the installed thread for installing the barrel.

And if you can't install the bolt carrier group without instructions, then you shouldn't be using the rifle.

Installed thread WTF is that.

and haven't you ran around here asking all kinds of stupid questions in the last month or so, at the end of January the only gun you owned was a 10/22, and now since you have got your first AR, that gives you the right to tell people who should and should not be using an AR. Seriously I'm sure someone had to teach you everything you know about your AR including removing the BCG so hows about a little less judgment mmmmk

Thank you JL7.

I am talking about  assembing an  bare A2 with rear sight, it is the parts I need help with not the bolt carrier.

I just talked to a buddy who is going to send me his "How to build an AR" video so in about 4 days I should be good to go. I will take some pics while I do and post them just to have something on the subject for other noobs like me.

I learned by using the manual. A lot of the upper stuff starts at PDF page 163 or manual page      3-48
