I was reading an article in Gun Tests (not the best publication, I know) and they said they did not like the Armalite becase the front sight base was secured with two staked allen bolts instead of being pinned. They thought this may come lose, but I've never heard of it.

Anyone heard of one coming loose ?

I actually prefer the Armalite sight base. I can adjust the FSB for windage so my rear sight stays centered. I have never had a problem with any movement even after some numb skull knocked my rifle off the bench onto the concrete.

Sounds like a non-issue. More nonsense from Gun Tests
