Is it just me or does the Armalite detachable carry handle look like it has more room inside it than any other manufacture?

It does.  Just a little.  They seem to have their own forging with a rounded front end.  Not square like everyody else is using.  I think all the others come from the same source.

Is the Armalite carry handle any deeper than a regular detachable carry handle?

I would expect the Armalite handle to have a larger opening since they do a good job of deburring the huge forging lap left in by Bushmaster.  Bought a B-M removable handle a while back and it had a really rough burr running around the inside of the handle opening.  It would actually cut your hand when inserting and removing it from the handle.  Pretty bad workmanship.  Ended-up returning it and paying $5 more for the Armalite handle.  What an improvement! Great workmanship and also had the indexing lug consistant with the true Picatinny rail spec.
