I know a few guys here have said they've ordered the $110 Armalite Carbon Fiber FFT with the 4 short rails on the muzzle end, but I have yet to hear any opinions on them...

Anyone?

I'm going for "inexpensive" here, so it's between that or the Fulton Armory Phantom II "modular" FFT with the optional and removeable rails.

What I'm going for (although I didn't know about the SPR when I started) is an "SPR"-ish 18.5" barrelled rifle with the full length handguards, a full length top rail, and short rails on the ends for the sling swivel, bipod, and flashlight (when it's Armadillo hunting time)

Thanks for the input

This sounds like something I could use.  I haven't seen these yet, anybody have a picture?  Are you sure it is made by Armalite?  I couldn't find it on their website or in the catalog.

It is under new products.  I have been looking at them myself.  Might make a fun mid length project with the top rail.

Stormbringer - did you get the top rail too, or just the tube?

How is it for weight?

Thanks again for the replies.

I'm pretty sure they are fiberglass, not carbon fiber. Like there NM freefloat tubes just with rails on them.

These look interesting too. I'd like to hear more about them.

$179 for carbine, they look like they are light and have good airflow.

Didn't weigh it but it's about 1/2 of the aluminum it replaced, yes I believe it is fiberglass with a "carbon look" coating but that's alright with me as I painted it anyway.

No I did not buy the rail as I had one from Young's Mfg.
