Can someone give me some advice on how to continue? I can't get the pin out. Some advice would be great.

cut or grind into the area where the flat is on the first pic so you can get to the vertical side of the pin, do it on the thinner side of the brake in which the pin is.

after grinding the side to access the side of the pin it should fall out or you should be able to pry it out.

try to go a little at a time so you dont grind into the threads.

cut a slot in it parrallel to the pin until you hit the pin and wedge it out.

when i did mine i cut slots into the pin like a cross and then wiggled it out with a screwdriver.

That could be cause there is no pin, it's a weld to keep the break on.

Then with a Dremel and cut off wheels i cut down to just touch the threads on both sides,
then pry apart. You have to pretty much cut most of the muzzle brake materal and you dont want to spin it off you want to split it.

Someone did a picture step by step if you can find it.

After looking at demusn1979's post and seeing the smiley face he left I stared at the smiley face for about two minutes..... Huh? he's not smiling..... He sinisterly laughing at me! lol I'm going to take this post to the builders thread (by the advice of a friend on this forum) but when I get pix and step by step instructions. I was under the impression that the pin was in like the "others" pictured below, but its not.

But I got it off and I'm now on the road to transforming my Armalite to a bad ass AR!!!

LMOA I wish you would have found this before I got it off. I did it the hard way, the same way like in your link, but I had to figure it out. But thanks
