Walmart has it for $7.58/40 round box. It's 55gr. Anyone shoot it? How did it work?

I like it O.K. for plinking ammo. I have had no failures as of yet,and the brass is reloadable.

It's good ammo for the range. It is not Q3131A. It is .223 not 5.56 (lower velocity). It costs 19 cents/round. Last gunshow I went to I got Q3131A for 16 cents/round. Cheaper and better (milspec) ammo. It's good ammo but I think you can get better for a better price.

2 questions on this ammo: -If I use this stuff to sight in my new AR would it probably still be a good zero for XM193 ammo? -Will this stuff fragment?

Different types of ammo will usually render different results in point of impact. Your best bet is to try them both and measure the difference yourself. Velocity and bullet construction have a great deal to do with bullet fragmentation. The consensus from what I have read on this board are that XM193,Q3131A and some of the OTM rounds are reliable in fragmentation. I haven't found anthing yet on the generic Win or Rem loads as they are not M193 spec. Moderators please feel free to correct me if I am wrong in my interpataion of the data that I have read in this forum.

They do fragment in water at 10M (personal tests). Because the velocity is lower than M193 the fragmentation range will be greatly reduced. maybe 50-100 meters out of a 20" barrel.
