I'm debating getting a Beowulf upper for my Bushmaster M4.  Not cheap nor is the ammo easy to get or cheap.  But it looks like fun.  And who knows how long it will be legal to buy one of these.  So, anyone get one but not like it?  Any/all comments appreciated.  Thanks from the latest newbe.

I bought a base model complete gun.  For me it's a novelty gun.  It kicks pretty good.  You already know the deal with the ammo.  Not sure what prices are but I bought mine in August for $1200 shipped.  I saw it on future weapons and had to buy it!  I honestly am not sure what I would practicaly use it for....bear or elephant hunting maybe?  It is fun to shoot.  Iwon't sell mine and don't regret it.  I may have just only bought the upper though.  There is nothing special about the lower besides it says .50cal on it and says BEOWULF.  I guess if a law is made that says something about calber being marked it will come in handy.

You should post this in the variants forum.  Read around before you by the beo.  Most get a .458 SOCOM or the .50 BEO.  Some have both.

I own a .458 Socom, several different factory loaded AMMO choices, as well as a much larger bullet selection if you are going to reload.

Just my 2 cents.

I love mine. Haven't regreted anything about it yet. Only thing is, times are tough on gun owners right now. It will be difficult to get started right now the way things are going. But, if you want a thrill, the Wulf is the way to go. Here is a pic of a bear I took last month with it.

Don't regret anything other than not buying some more brass when it was available.  Really fun gun

*edit for poor sentence structure

Nope, of course I paid under $650 for the upper, and have plenty of brass and bullets still . I think the pricetag on my box of brass says $45

I bought it in June of 03 or maybe it was '04 but before the ban expired.

last i checked wulf ammo was cheaper than 458.  I want a wulf because its point-five-oh! not enough $ right now but its on my list.  Its a great round for hogs, bears, cars, ect.

I know a guy who is looking to sell his due to the reasons mentioned.  He said it would be the ultimate Razorback hunting rifle.......FWIW.  Ammo cost is too high for me to consider.

My only regret is getting/finding ammo. If I had to do it all over I would get a 458 Socom.

Like I said, much better selection of ammo, and bullets for those who reload.
