When the 300 rd. battle packs started dissapearing, I remember someone saying that another shipment would be getting in during the summer.  Does anyone know when or if they are are being brought back?

Cole Distributing (www.coledistributing.com) has the SA battlepacks (900-rds), but they are a bit of a ripoff at $150. When the M1A3 battle packs were available last year, Sportsman's Guide had them for $36 per 300 rds. Obviously, Cole is practicing Kensian Economics supply and demand elasticity fundamentals here. In the interim, you can get new PMP ammo for about $140 per 1,000, and they are the manufacturers of the older SA surplus stuff.

KY Imports is advertising SA battlepacks at $52.99/300 or $149.99/900. This figures out to 17 & 16 cents per round, respectively.

I would suspect that this is not the new shipment of SA that everyone has been waiting on, but some leftover from the last shipment. In the spirit of free enterprise, they just decided to jack up the price to what they think the market will bear. Guess they want to get rid of it before another shipment hits the market & they have to lower their prices.

Were all the SA battlepacks of the same lot/quality?  I bought one about a month ago with this printed on:

top of each 30 round box:

30 rd.
5,56x45
ball
M1A2

and on the side:

698
A83Z

the shell casings read:

83 (above primer)
12(below primer)

I havent shot any of it yet since I have thousands of rounds of xm193, etc. etc. but I do remember people touting this SA ammo so I figured I would pick one up when I was at the gun shop!

900 rounds/3 packs - $126.97
600 rounds/2 packs - $79.97
300 round battle pack - $42.97
