You should be able to find it at any hardware store. It's pretty common stuff.

It's sometimes sold under a name like Rust Removal Jelly. Discount Auto Parts has it.

But, before you go to work on the barrel be careful. The jelly will discolor parkerizing. The blotches may look worse than the rust. If you do use it I'd recommend keeping it very concentrated to the specific rust spots, leaving it on for less time than recommended and immediately rinse it off with water. The goal being rust removal without affecting the parkerizing.

I would try anything else first, like the Hoppes, CLP and a brush or see if there is a specific gun product made for barrels/parkerizing.

The jelly is strong stuff. I only use it on things that are bare metal, painted things where it doesn't matter if the paint is messed up and DPMS LPK's.

This barrel is about to become a shotgun. I know you guys use it a lot . Muzzle loader that was free. Everything else is fine but it wasnt cleaned after firing. Lots of pitting.

Orchard Supply Hardware for those in the N. California area, not sure if these stores are nationwide or just on the left coast.

Better way might be oiled 0000 steel wool.

I received an M1A that had been painted with Krylon spray paint. Found a citrus based paint remover in a spray can. Took a few times spraying and brushing with a plastic bristle brush and it came out looking new with no damage to the parkerizing at all.

Home Depot. But be careful, my bottle's cap leaked badly after it was tipped over. I don't know how long it was on its side, but it made a mess of everything on that shelf. It was a bright colored plastic bottle that looked like what kids blow bubbles with.
