Steel mag. Followers in mine were soft. Two had cracked from spring pressure over the years in storage and had to be replaced. Some have the mag catch hole a little low and the top of the mag hits the bottom of the carrier. Easy fix was to file a very small amount off the top of the mag catch hole in the magazine. The spring is a little different size than a GI mag. I put GI springs in a couple and had feeding problems in one where the spring would hang up part way through the mag. Put the factory spring back in and it worked fine. Go for around 8$ each for ten or more some places.

i have about ten of these and all worked flawlessly.
great range mags imo. when the magpul followers came out as prototypes i got some to install into my range mags and they continue to function flawlessly.

just wondering but what manufactor ar did you buy to be getting on of these mags? did the dealer just give you one for buying the rifle?

I ended up with one of these IDS steel mags. Never could get it to run right.

I had very good luck with them but switched over to all USGI. The followers were pretty crappy IMO so I switched them out first thing.

I recently bought a Colt AR from a Army captain here in Guam and this mag came with it. There were 2 30rnd mags and 2 20rnd mags.  The only mag I could not find info on.

thanks again to all who commented.
