This has come up a couple of times for me now when I have heard people talk about the AR15.

Is there a difference between these two types of rifles or is it during a competition?

'Varmiter" 's, usually come with a 1/8 twist SS bull barrel, 20"~24" long
"Tactical" 's, usually come with a 1/7 twist, chromelined, 4150 barrel, 14.5"~16" long

And there's a wide variety of "in betweens"

What's the difference betwen a sniper and a varminter?  The name.  Aside from the barrel itself, tactical and varminter could have no differences.

Ive seen some ARs that look more like a Star Wars blaster than a rifle.. That would be one  difference.
