Moving the gas port out is a good thing, but sucks if you want to use any standard handguard or rail system.
But, looking at things, I was able to fit the modified block, inside a standard positioned in the CAR location.  Now I can use stuff like the CASV   |

I've ben trying to figure out why someone hasn't made an FSB with the gas port
under the forward ring and used an extended tube... This is getting closer!

thats some intresting tinkering.
read about a rifle that had a similar idea with the gas system but different  from ds arms they called it the "gas trap carbine" had a gas block with a plug up front which was removable along with the gas tube through the front of the block.what came to mind when i saw this |
