First let me say that this has got to be the most informative ar site I have ever seen. Well done. I am in the US Coast Guard and I shoot an AR often. Damn good too;) I started doing research for a coyote gun. And initially I wanted a heavy barrel bolt action 22-250. But the more that I thought about it, the more I thought that a 5.56 ar would fit the bill even better! So I am now on my quest to get one! I thought I would say hello, and I look forward to learning all about the options the ar platform has to offer.

Welcome to the board, there are some great people and great information here. There is also some bogus info which is thrown around from people who don't know any better and are trying to be helpful. If you have questions as to how legit something is, check with one of the guys you trust.

Welcome aboard. I have 2 different 22-250 bolt guns and use them as back up when varmint shooting. I always prefer my SPR over them. Your decision to start with an AR 1st is a sound one you wont regret.

Welcome aboard. There's some savvy shooters on here that will get you around the learning curve fast and are very quick and open about answering any questions you have on an AR.

eta-We only request is that you post pics of any new gun. And speaking of 'open' we, it's also a tradition for new members to post pics of their wife / gf in the BOTD section. Being on the water, you may subsitute pics of babes in boats.
