I've fired about 1200 rounds of the 55 grn FMJBT through my 16" middy. No problems.
I have fired 1600 rounds of 55gr FMJBT through my Daniel Defense DDM4 and my Rock River 20" Varmint. It is the most accurate of all the 55gr .223 or 5.56 ammo I have used. I highly recommend it.

Is this about Fiocchi USA or G.F.L. ("Giulio Fiocchi, Lecco" Italian M193) ammo?
Either way, I have shot a couple of boxes of both, neither with issues. |
Canadians are your friends, unless you have the puck.
Fired 600 rds of the G.F.L. 55gr. in an Appleseed course over two days. No issues and very good grouping.
Rifle used: Bushmaster 16" Superlight. |
I have shot 500 rounds of this , 55gr in various AR15s and a Sig 556 .
All functioned well, decent accuracy . The early stuff was pretty good brass with crimped primers , recently they are uncrimped and all the flashholes have been off center ( i voted minor problem) |

700 rounds of US-made, 50-round green boxes loaded with HDY 55gr FMJBT's, brass-case, boxer.
20" 1:8 twist HBAR Great stuff. |

I've fired 600 rds of the Fiocchi 55gr FMJ in my Bushmaster 14.5'', BCM 14.5'' and in my LMT 16''. Just picked up another 250 rds and will see if they work in my KAC SR15. I like it, its cheap and clean.

While trying to find which factory ammo my new DPMS S.A.S.S Barreled upper likes the best, I shot 20rds of 62gr. It shot the best groups out of 6 different kinds of ammo. I only bought a 50rd box but will be getting much more of this ammo soon.

fired about 300 rounds through my new les Baer .233 police tacticle with two jams. not sure if it was the c-products mag or the ammo. like to assume it wasn't the rifle!

100 rounds of the 50gr V Max load out of a 16 inch carbine.
Ive never used any Fiocchi ammo, but would like to see the poll results.
How can I do that without voting? TIA |
RRA 24" Bull with 1:8 twist and BCM 16' with 1:7 twist
40gr V-Max = 60 rounds 50gr V-Max = 40 rounds 55gr PSP = 40 rounds 55gr FMJ = 50 rounds 62gr FMJ = 40 rounds 69gr Match = 40 rounds 77gr Match = 40 rounds No problems whatsoever. I think some of the Fiocchi ammo is under rated. The V-Max and Match bullets are very accurate. The Soft Points and FMJ's are average. -Cody |

Burns a little dirty, but works.

Some smoky but not near as bad as S&B which seemed a bit hotter

I have only shot a hundred rounds or so. I had no problems with it in my LMT 16" 1/7 twist barrel..I am thinking about buying more for plinking/fun shooting...

Shot 50 rounds of the 62 grain stuff this weekend. Grouped well rifle used was 1in9 DSA franken gun.

If I had all the money I ever spent on strippers, I would own that machine gun that I always wanted.
500 rds. variously through carbine-length Colt 6920, RRA ET and Stag/Model 1 - all 16", and RRA middy 16". All 55 gr. FMJ. No problems at all.
It's my go-to ammo, since it shoots clean, is as accurate as I need it to be, has been available through The Great Ammo Shortage and the price is good. I have about 1k rds of it salted away for SHTF, and I'll stake my life on it if need be. . . |

400 rounds of the 40 gr at an appleseed through an 18" SPR and a 20" Service Rifle.
Nice and accurate. No issues other than the brass comes out HOTTT enough to melt itself into a blue tarp... |
about 2000 rounds 62gr. no problems..... average to above average accuracy.
Colt 6721- mostly this rifle Stag carbine Bushy m4gery |

I wasn't expecting much out of Fiocci (55gr, FMJ), but it shot very well for me in my 16" 1:7 BCM midlength. Zero malfunctions, <2MOA with 20 shot groups (probably closer to 1.5" or better but that's the shooter not the ammo). Wish it was cheaper and that I had more of it.
I put 200 rounds of the 55gr PSP through my 16" Rock River. No problems at all, and it grouped well. I'd buy it again, if the price was right.

Can anyone confirm or deny the poster's comment that the 55GR FMJBT Fiocchi loading is a Hornady bullet? Also, anyone else with accuracy range reports for that same flavor of Fiocchi? |

In terms of reliability, it has always gone bang in all the rifles I have used it in. No blown primers or anything like that. My issues have to do with accuracy. Even out of a JP CTR-02 I can't get better than 2MOA from Fiocchi ammo.

With friends like these, who needs enemas?

According to Fiocchi it is.

1000 rnds through an a2 clone. no issues, good ammo.

Fired four 50 round boxes of 55FMJ in some Rock Rivers. Just as accurate as FC 55 FMJ, more accurate than PMC 55 FMJ, just as or more accurate than LC M193 Ball, more accurate than Winchester 55 FMJ Qwhatever, cycled fine in 5.56mm and Wylde chambers. Bought a full 1000 round case after trying it. 100% function in rifles that have never choked on a single round.

Purchased a case of ammo from DSG Arms in 2010. It has popped primers in 3 of my ARs. The lot number on my boxes is 4910009-0470, CIP 009. The 0470 was written by hand.
When I measured the overall length of the round against PMC Bronze 55 grain, it is about 0.8mm shorter than the PMC. The bullet is pushed too far into the case. If you have this ammo, be very careful. This is what one of the AR's manufacturers said about it after they inspected the barrel. I had fired a total of ~40 rounds of this Fiocchi ammo through it. "We received your upper today and did a prelim checkout. Borescoping the barrel revealed indication of a tremendous overpressure, we're guessing from the Fiocchi rounds. The gas port is highly eroded, more than is seen after 10,000 rounds. There's gross carbon particles/staining especially near the chamber in the bore. Highly not normal. Don't get the wrong idea, the barrel is still fine, the throat is good etc" See this thread for photos: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_16/543913_Fiocchi_55_grain__red_box_of_50___223_pops_primers___lot_4910009_0470.html |

2k rounds through a RRA AR15, no FTF and went bang every time.

started using Fiocchi 223 a few years ago.
55gr was my main ammo...I've shot about 1k rounds for plinking and IPSC competitions...never had a single problem. I now use S&B just because I can get them cheaper. I've also tried some 69 & 77 Exacta for target shooting at 100 and 200m; got tighter groups with the 69gr out of my 2 Colt (6601 and 6731) but both cycled fine. |

I use the 40 and 50gr V-Max in my .223 Bolt action with great results
It leaves a little more unburnt powder in the barrel then some other ammo, but its inexpensive ammo with quality bullets |
Fired 300 rounds of 40 grain and about 1000 rounds of 62 grain through three various AR's (One stag model 6, a SAA upper on stag lower and an upper I pieced together myself from various parts on another stag lower) with zero issues. Always goes bang, and it's consistent and accurate out of my 1/7 and 1/8 twist barrels.

I've shot 400+ rounds of 55fmj through a couple different carbines with no issues. Better than average accuracy.
I've put several hundred rounds of their 55 grain and 40 grain V-Max through my 6920 and my rifle-length build, never had any issues and found it more accurate than the Aguila I've been shooting lately. I buy it whenever my LGS stocks it. |
Found some Fiocchi .223 55gr FMJ on sale back in 2009 at a Sportsmans Warehouse in Idaho. I'd never
heard of it, but it looked GTG and the price was right. I bought 500 rounds. I've been through about 250 with a Bushmaster XM15 and a Colt 6721. No problems at all. Good groups, no FTLs, FTFs, or FTEs. I'd put it about on a par with PMC Bronze and maybe Winchester Q3131A1. My LGS usually has it, so if I needed any .223 I'd certainly consider buying more. |
I've shot about 300 rounds of the 50 gr. VMAX variety out of my Savage 25...MOA when I do my job

Probabaly around 4k rounds of 55gr FMJ. Used in a mix of rifles; LMT 16" piston, 16" RRA DI, and an SL8 / g36 clone. Used for local IDPA and multigun matches. No issues for me and I have been a fan of the ammo.

Shot appprox 200 rounds of the GFL 77 grain ammo with Sierra bullets. These have been shot through 2 different 1/7 barrels ( One KAC and One Wilson ). This ammo groups about 1/8 MOa better than Hornady Match and Hornady TAP in the same bullet weight for me. It has all fed and functioned extremely well.

Fiocchi 69gr. match ammo is the most accurate commercial ammo I ever shot out of my AR's.
Tightest group I ever shot in my life was with this ammo. 450 rounds 69 grain 120 rounds 77 grain 250 rounds 55 grain 1/8 20 inch barrel WW VEX 1/7 16 inch barrel SIG 516 1/7 16 inch assorted build Their 55 and 77 grain offerings are better than average, but their 69 grain match hits the sweet spot. |
My BEST go-to factory load right now is Fiocchi Exacta Match 77gr HPBT. It's mainly what I've been stocking up on.
It shoots better than 75gr Hornady Match and Black Hills 77gr OTM out of several 1/7 twist 14.5/16" bbls. |
I have had good luck with Fiocchi.
Their 69 sierra match kings shot well out of my dad's colt HBAR, for 20 rounds it averaged out at .75" groups. The 55FMJ has ran fine when I've used it, I don't use it much, only fired about 200 rounds I got cheap but it went bang out of my AR15, was clean and good brass. the 50 grain Vmax is a good accurate round. Until I started handloading it was my main coyote round. Shot about 200 rounds, grouped right about an inch and of course, no reliability issues ina Winchester M70 bolt action. |

This place continues to amaze me with the amount of information that is available. I'm searching for the best round for my AR and this one has moved up on my list. Thanks for adding to this thread.

the Shooting Dynamics line was some of the best factory ammo Ive ever used.
1000 rds used, 55 grain, 16 inch middy 1-9 twist home builds. |
I've shot about 200 rds of the 55 fmj, most of a box of the 50 Vmax and about half a box of the 40 Vmax. No problems with any of them. The fmj was all shot through 3 different ARs. Accuracy on average was a little worse than Wolf Gold and Geco, a little better than Fed and AE. The 50 Vmax was shot through 1 AR and a Tikka T3 lite. Accuracy in the AR was about 1.5 MOA, in the T3 easily sub MOA. The 40 Vmax was also shot through the same AR and T3. Groups in the AR were over 2 MOA, in the T3 about 1 MOA.

I've shot around 500 rds no problems shot very well.

I've shot the Perfecta made by Fiocchi. It cycles well and groups very nice. Never had one issue.

I ran a few hundred through my Bushy 14.5" 1/7 M4.
The best thing I remember about it ammo wise was, well nothing. Which is good for plinking ammo. No issues=no memories? I'd buy it again though I stocked up on PMC X-TAC 62gr which I obviously like a lot. Figuratively and literally. |
