I'm about toasted trying to understand all the multiple options for 5.56 ammo. Can someone tell me simply what is the best types of ammo to just target shoot, for home defense, & longer range shooting at game.
My Colt LE 6920 has a 16" barrel & a 1/7 twist.
I'm very new to AR's and would appreciate any help I can get.

everything you want to know is in the ammo section and there are good bullets for each thing listed. You can get some inexpensive 55grn fmjbt for target practice cheap plinking, maybe a 62 grain or a little bigger with a soft point or hollow point for hd, can get some big ole 70+ grns for long range and it depends on the game what u should use.
