How many rounds does everyone put into a 7.62 can? For storage. Can measures 3.5"wide X 10"long X 7" high

Seems to hold 1000 9mm nicely
Holds 1000 rds of 40 but very heavy.

Try and snag the 5.56 SAW cans. They are bigger then the .50's. You can put 960 rounds on strippers and in bandos in one can. 8 bandos of 120 rounds each. In boxes of 20 (Lake City) they hold damn close to 2K rounds IIRC.

Don't remember for a 30 cal can but the 50 cal can that 5.56mm ball comes in now is packed 840 rounds on strippers in bandoleers.  Uncle Sam also issues 1000 rds 9mm in boxes in the same 50 can.

I put 600 rounds on strippers in the 30 cal cans and 1000+ rounds on strippers in the 50 cal cans.

It's tight, but you can fit 2000 loose 9mm rounds in a .50 ammo can.
