I went to the range today.
I was using three of the British steel mags.
There is a little molding mark on the back of the
magazine follower that hangs up on the back of the
magazine if the follower is not pushed down in the back
first when loading.
All three of these magazines appear to have it.
I see a little filing in my future on a slow night.

With my SA80s, I dropped in the Magpul followers.  They needed a bit of fitting after running them up and down with a ruler to check for wear spots, but after that they have been flawless.

Thankfully a few minutes with the assistance of Captain Dremel, and all was good.

all of mine have the "pink" magpul followers in them, very tricky to install due to the tolerances but work wonderfully afterwards.

i have never had any problems with the black followers they came with nor did i have problems with the green ones that were once in there.

My "England sticker" Imperial Defense mags were purchased from CMMG, who supplied chrome-silicon springs.  I have green followers in them.  No problems.
