So i'm loading ammo onto stripper clips. i've got some wolf black box, and what i like to do is tear the corners down, pull out one round on each row, and slide the clips over the rims. after i pull the rounds off the plastic insert, i tighten em up, and throw the last round on. Now i'm 400 rounds through the case, and i fill one clip, then go to fill the other... and when i tighten up and put on the last round, i've got too much room on the clip So i count the rounds (slowly since i'm so fucking confused now) and i've only got 9 on the clip. WTF. i tore the couch apart looking for the last round, emptied the ammo can, sorted through all the empty boxes.... I could've sworn that there were 20 rounds in the box.

I guess the question here is how common is it for boxes to be a round shy?

happened only one time to me in 7 years of shooting any guns, of all things.... it was a 50 round box of cci .22 LR.....for those that dont know...it's a clear plastic box....

ironic i feel

so i'd say not too terribly common

i'm just staring at this clip with one round missing, and i just can't wrap my mind around it. i could have sworn that it was a full box... i thought i'd have noticed while pushing the clip over the rims... i really think i'm going nuts.

I know the feeling. You have thousands of rounds, but you are missing one, and it drives you crazy.

Don't worry...Either your vacuum or your 3-year-old will find it.

Were you watching a zombie movie last night? If so, carefully clear the chamber of your rifle because you probably really got into the movie and ....

I bet it's there somewhere. Keep looking.

I've lost a round from time to time. Takes a while to find it. They can roll into the weirdest of places. Check under the couch, etc. Ammo fits into small, secluded spaces.

About a year ago I dropped a 230 grain HST round in the middle of my kitchen floor....I still haven't found it.

The underwear gnomes are prepping right along with the rest of us I guess.

Yes, the Underpants Gnomes have a plan...

Phase 1: Collect ammunition
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit!
