I have a pre-ban Armalite/Eagle Arms upper that I will be setting up w/ a new post-Ban lower. This would normally require a pinned/welded brake for legality, I have decided on an alternative, seeing that I do not see the need for a muzzel brake/compensator. The barrel w/ exposed (illegal) threads is already 16", so I intend to fit a bushing w/ matching threaded I.D to a length slightly longer than the current threaded/crowned barrel with the O.D matching the barrel O.D. This threaded bushing will be pinned and welded as all post-ban devices have to be, but the advantage is being able to clean barrel crown and I will also be able to add/remove sight bases and/or float tubes as desired.
