Ok bear with me I'm a complete ar15 novice .
So I've ordered an Armalite  LE M15A4 16" up here in canada, it should be here next week.
I want to shoot the next few months with iron sights before I go to optics.
I had decided to not go the carry handle route for sights (i thought this would be a more inexpensive option)
and get a aftermarket rear sight assembly on its own.

But today I'm in a gun store and the owner really insisted that I should rethink my decision not to get the carry handle, his reasoning was that the best sight for my armalite is going to be the carry handle from armalite and that in his experience alot of after market rear sights have terrible windage problems and I will end up with the rear sight cranked all the way over.
And his final suggestion was that I cut down the carry handle to just leave the sight assembly.

Considering that I'm on a budget.
Should I just stick to the carry handle sighting option? to be or not to be cutdown. or is there a good inexpensive alternate out there?

The Aimpoint or eotech will come along next year.

The carry handle or the BUIS are both going to be fine.  You will not have any problems with any aftermarket sight that is of decent quality.

He doesn't sound like he has any experience at all with ARMS, LaRue, Troy Ind, GG&G, KAC, LMT, etc, etc, etc.

Do yourself 2 favors:
1) In the future, disregard anything that dealer tells you, and ask your questions HERE. There are a lot (and I mean a LOT) of people here that KNOW the AR15, inside & out, and will be more than happy to help you out

Hi, welcome to the site.

I would recommend the LMT (Lewis Machine & Tool Co.) Tactical Adjustable rear sight. It is already a cut down carry handle sight. I own one and it's great and I prefer it with my carry handle sight.

There are also other manufacturers that makes this type like Rock River Arms, Bushmaster, LaRue, Yankee Hill Machine, etc.

So, later on when you get your dot sight, just install it in front of this iron sight.

Looking at the difference between flipup and fixed sights, are fixed sights generaly more accurate? I talking about a distance of 100 and 200 meters.

Oh I guess I should add that the dealer did say that I should come back next week and talk to one of the other guys who knows more about the various sights then he did.
