I have almost collected all the parts I need for a new carbine (got all the big parts), now I'm down to the little stuff...

The barrel is covered by the hand guard so I would like to discreetly display the caliber (223 Wylde) on the ejection port door.

When I shop for ejection port doors all I see are UGLY ones:

I would like one that is discreet like this:

Does any one have a recommendation of an engraver that can do this for me (or know of an off-the shelf part like I'm describing)?  I know the internet is full of ejection port door engravers but they all seem to do the ugly ones.

I may be confused by what you want but if I'm reading it right, why not just go to Wilson Combat and buy it?

Just realized what I missed. You want a .223 Wylde and they don't offer it. I've used Sure shot precision and they were amazing. Did a lower for me and even asked me to email the exact font for my logo so they could use that! $10 for a dust cover seems reasonable. Good luck.

My 10 year old and I did a father son Saturday build.  I put his name on the outside of the ejection port cover and this is the inside.

on a side note, I use a different colored ejection port for each caliber.

no matter the color scheme of the rifle.

I use this guy: [email protected]

He will do almost anything you want, inside, outside, or both.  He has done  over a dozen for me and I could not be happier.  IIRC it is $19 for just the port cover, $24 for cover, rod, spring, and clip.

If you go with SureShot, be prepared to wait. It's been a month and a half and I'm still waiting on my lower receiver + dust cover. They do seem to do good work, however, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

I went with Tactical Gear Junkie...  They turned out NICE!

...and those guys saved my butt when they over-nighted me the rod, c-clip and springs that I lost.
