WTF?!?!?!  I never even considered that happening!  I guess you did the usual stuff, baking soda w/water, a 'lil coke (soft drink kind) on a q-tip.

ETA
Batteries in mine ALL the time, never had that problem.

I'll give ya 5 bucks for the EOtech.

I'd go the route of baking soda and water + q-tip. Use another q-tip with some alcohol to clean up the rest.

Edit: WAY too slow on my posting tonight.. Rakky beat me.

What kind of batteries were you using?

The energizer ones that came with the sight.

Glad you got it working again.  I would have suggested using a pencil eraser, a really old-school method of cleaning contacts.

Ciph,
Any idea on why it leaked? Did you usually remove the batteries for long term storage? Just wondering, because I have 2 EOTech's. Glad ya got it going again.

It seems to be POS batteries. Even the idot at the counter of the batteries plus couldn't tell me why that happened.

why contact eotech...this seems more like a battery issue and not an optic issue....i'm not biased towards any certain optic but why would the eothingy make the batterys leak out?

OK, thanks for the update. I'd like to think that maybe that is 1 in 500 Billion.

Good news from EOTech!

Mr. XXXXX,

Thanks for the pictures and explanation of your solution to the
problem.
We've seen this from time to time, and generally replace the contacts
for our customers. We'd be happy to do the same for you. Please let me
know and we can proceed. We would cover the cost of repair and return
shipping. It is a 7 to 10 day repair time. If you would like to do
this,
please email me your contact number and return shipping address. I can
then provide you with a return authorization number.

Thanks,

Dennis Finnegan

It took 'em a while but they came through.
