I am think about getting an AA 6.5 upper and an RRA lower and I was wondering if the two separate pieces finishes match and if the two separate brands fit together well and had no play.

Thanks much, BrainShake

Well I have seen Rock River and Colt match.

My AA upper matches my Colt in color, and fits so well you would think that AA had my lower in thier shop.

My AA upper is a more solid, evenly matched fit, in both the pins, and the upper/lower receiver surfaces.

VERY VERY SOLID

even more so than my Colt/Colt and that is also a Match Target model

If not you can always duracoat, in either black or camo

You will like the 6.5mm Grendel

Welcome to the club

I built a rifle for NRA high power competition using an AA billet flat top receiver and a stripper RRA lower.  I don't recall any caveats that were encountered while assembling the rifle and the finish of the receivers is a close enough match for me.
