Has anybody had experience with the aimpoint M2 2x?, or any other aimpoint 2x model. I like the idea of a little magnification, just wondering if it really makes a big difference (not concerned about its lack of NV capability). The eotech 552 is about $100 less, I already have one and I know i like it. Thanks.

the 2x negates the point of having an aimpoint.

and how is this a vs. thread? you are only asking about the aimpoint 2x and state you own a eotech and like it.

gonna get less feedback/replies due to your title. the title is discussed more than many want to and its kinda getting old. most of the threads end up in a bashing contest and either get trashed or locked.

I was hoping to get some information on the benfits of an aimpoint 2x VS. the benfits of an eotech from someone with experience using both. Thanks for your time though.

It's not a matter of experience.  It's a matter of whether you would like the magnification or not.

I've used a 4x32 ACOG and an Eotech and an Aimpoint.  I like the ACOG the best and for it's own reasons.  The Eotech serves a purpose the ACOG can't and the Aimpoint, well, I've got it because it was a good deal.  It serves no purpose to me...

2x magnification wouldn't make my Aimpoint appeal to me any more than it does now.  I think it would actually make me like it less.  For magnification, the ACOG was a damn fine optic.

the 2x aimpoints have fallen by the wayside for the reasons I've mentioned above.

parallax issues with the 2x which defeats the purpose of a reddot being parallax free
