I mounted my Aimpoint so that the on/off dial is located in the 10/11 o'clock postion, but later noticed that from pictures, that everyone including Aimpont has it mounted so that the on/off dial is located in the 1/2 o'clock position.

The adjustment dials are marked "UP-L" and "UP-R", which would lead me to believe that it could be mounted in either position, but I have yet to see a picture with it mounted in the postion I have mine mounted.

Am I missing something?

I find it more convient the way I have mine mounted, because I can roll on/off the switch with my weak side thumb as I cradle the front portion of the magwell. I would imagine that with it mounted in the other fashion I would have to reach over the top of the Aimpont to turn it on or use my strong side hand. Both of which seem less desireable.

Thanks in advance for opinions/suggestions.

It would seem to me that the on/off switch would block some of my field of view (shooting right handed). I liked mine on the right side of my receiver.

If it doesn't block your view, I would put it wherever works best for you.
