Which one and why?

It does everything the Aimpoint can do. If you really need to gain more precision for longer range shots...then your "mission" is different from what an Aimpoint can offer you - consider a magnified optic rather than a smaller dot.

Hopefully in the next 2 months I'll finally get my ML3.  I'm going with the 4 MOA dot.  The rifle I'll be putting the scope on is made for 100 yards or less.  I'll take a bigger dot for speeds sake.

i own two m2's with the 4moa dot and after looking through the newer m3 with the 2moa dot i think it is a great option.

if you turn up the brightness a bit the glare makes it pretty much a 4moa dot so its nothing different from past models but it does have the 2moa which would provide a less obstructed sight picture when needed.

I run a 4 MOA Aimpoint because I want a close in optic.... if I wanted precision... I would  have got a magnified optic with a crosshair. good deals to be had on 4MOAs as guys switch to  the latest greatest...

Don't sweat the 4 vs 2MOA get the best deal on one and you'll be fine.

I would only opt for the 2 MOA if there is a magnifier in your future.
