I can't see anything appear red until setting #4. Is my aimpoint defective?

I can see setting 4 on an M2. I would imagine that you could see setting 3-4 on an ML2. I will admit that it is very hard to see and I have to turn the knob to 5 on a black surface and then back down to 4.

The ML2 is the non-NVG model, so settings 1-4 should be brighter than in M2. I can see setting 1 in total darkness with my M2 without NVG, so I would expect that you could see setting 1 with your ML2 in darkness too.

In a totally dark room I can see the lower settings.

All my settings are visible, and mine has been beat down! It is still going strong, purchased before our deployment to OIF in March 03 ( ain't no tanker in 4ID gonna get issued an M68!)

My ML2 is hard to see at the lower settings, even in total darkness. In fact 1 and 2 position is invisible in total darkness. I even checked it with PVS-14's and I couldn't see the dot then either.

I can't see my #1 setting at all. #2 is VERY dim.

Such wonderful engineering huh?

When I recently obtained a Comp ML2, I thought something was out of whack because I could just barely see the 2nd setting in a totally black room. Aimpoint checked it out and said all was normal. (excellent custumer service I might add). In the interim I looked through a new Comp ML2 at a recent gun show and it performed exactly the same as mine. That 's the way it is. -Gene

So which is it... normal like many are saying or "ML2-MARKED AIMPOINTS... THAT WERE ACTUALLY M2'S" as the man who types in all CAPS speculates???
