Already have the Stag lower I assembled with upgraded grip and stock. The next step was going to be ordering the stag 2HT upper for 780..ish..
Have just come across an opportunity to purchase a S&W MP15
(as pictured here- http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=11101&langId=-1&productId=44934&tabselected=tech&isFirearm=Y&parent_category_rn=33803 )

For around 1000-1100. It is used and has about 200 rounds through it. I could also have it as early as tues ... as opposed to the 8-12 week wait for the stag upper...
Thoughts?

Than u for the input . so you would go with the stag upper for around 780 instead of complete s&w for 200-300$ more? From reading other posts comparing the two it looked like Stag and SW were of similar quality......

S&w, but hard to say without knowing more specs on both.

No way! Stag uppers should be about $550 including a rear sight

Regardless, get a M&P, they're closer to milspec.

I bought M&P15T new from Express Guns for $1266, so 1100 seams high. I would look around for the Stag, unless you like the front folding sight. IMO, both Stag and S&W are good to go.

Thank you for the info. What would you pay for one used?
