I spent a lot of time trying to get the correct components to build a true long range precision rifle. I want to be able to hit steel out to 1000 yards. I was hoping for 1/2 moa. I shot 4 shots at 50 yards to make sure I was on paper. I cleaned the barrel, shot two and cleaned again. The next two were through the same hole. 129 grain American Whitetails hand loaded without the use of a mag. Absolutely floored with the accuracy.

4 shot group, I get that it's not far. Why can't I get the pics to show without links?

The first 4 shots from the barrel and the scope mount on the rail was only finger tight?

When I went up to the target I thought I had missed. The cardboard underneath does show 4 slight deviations I could see from the lead on these American Whitetail rounds.

4 shots furthest to the left were Hornady 147 grain match just shy of 3/4 inches. The left three were 1/2 inch group with 120 grain Hornady Match. |

4 furthest to the left are Barnes vortex lr 127 grain in 1.25 inch. 3 lower left are the 120 grain match in1/2 inch. Top right is the American Whitetails at 1.5 inch. There are 4, 147 grain match bullets in .25 inch group in the center. All groups were shot at 100 yards. The cheek weld on the Luth-AR is excellent but with muffs on it interferes with the weld big time. I need to find a good set of front and rear bags and ditch the muffs for plugs I suppose. Incredibly happy with the accuracy of the proof research barrel. |
