I am going to buy an A3 upper soon. In a week or so. I haven't decided yet on a standard 20" one or a 24" varmint type. I'll have both eventually but if I decide to get the 20" standard first, how much of an accuracy difference could I expect by adding a free float sleeve under the handguard? Would it be worth the extra $100.00 or so? I will have a good trigger and optics to be able to make use any added accuracy it might give. I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea what the difference in group size to expect, if any, from getting a sleeve.

Generally free floating will improve your group by 1 MOA. Is it worth it...depends on what you'll use the gun for. Plinking at 50 yards, probably not. CMP/DCM...absolutely.

Thanks. That is what I wanted to know.

Concur with caneau. You should expect a 1.0 MOA or better improvement by free-floating the barrel.
