Ok new guy checking in don't have an ar "yet" but am very interested. Just want to get some advice on which one to get. are the parts kits worth while or should I just get the run of the mill for my first. short on funds after my Fal obsession but now I need more EVIL black guns for the collection any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hello, There are a lot of good quality AR's out there. My recomendation would be a DPMS. Go to dpmsinc.com website. You are going to get an overwhelming support for Bushmaster here on this forum. Check out Rock River, Armalite,Colt and many others. Stick with a top name. You will be more satified in the long run. [beer]

From browsing this forum for a while, I don't think I've ever heard of a significant problem with rifles from a reputable manufacturer. It kind of comes down to price and features. Bushmaster is the de-facto standard, but I chose Rock River due to their lower price and included 2-stage trigger. In return, I gave up the chrome lined barrel.
