I have use state board tape to fill in the grid on some PMags for grip. However I am having trouble getting them to stick. Anyone run into this and what adhesive would be safe to use on the PMags?

Isn't the grip tape already adhesive-backed?
I'd probably use a piece of double sided tape underneath and then superglue around the edges if I never wanted it to come off. |

I'm assuming you cleaned the area you placed the skateboard tape on with something like alcohol or similar. I'm guess the the p-mags have some sort of mold release on them from manufacturing that is not giving the tape a good adhesion.

When I built model airplanes as a kid, you were to soak the plastic parts in mild dish soap and water before building. It removed the plastic release mold. I noticed when i painted my models after cleaning them with the dish soap the paint adhered much better.

Glue's and epoxy's will not work real well on PMag's
I would suggest getting a quality brand name non-skid tape like 3M |

It is adhesive backed 3M Tape. And I did use alcohol to clean before application. I was going to try some of the temporary spray adhesive but was afraid this would hurt the plastic.

First I would clean it with hot water, makes sure you get all of the oiley residue off of the magazine and let it air dry, the hotter the water the faster it dries. I've cut out a few pieces of 3M non-skid to use on a couple of my PMags and those pieces stuck real well. I don't know if commercial or industrial makes a difference, but the tape I was using was industrial, designed for high wear areas. If you want a section of it send me a IM. |

You can also try sanding the area to provide a better surface for bonding.
